Hoy en Argentina casi 1 de cada 5 mujeres asalariadas son trabajadoras de servicio doméstico, la rama de actividad que peor paga, y sólo 1 de cada 10 mujeres en edad de jubilarse está en condiciones de hacerlo sin moratoria.
Las mujeres aportan a nuestras sociedades y también generan riqueza, pero ese trabajo está orientado al servicio de la vida y no se limita a una expresión monetaria. Ellas dedican el doble de tiempo que los varones a tareas domésticas, a criar y cuidar a personas adultas o dependientes. Pero este trabajo no cuenta.
Los espacios comunitarios también se sostienen con el trabajo militante de mujeres a cargo de tareas de cuidado. De hecho, en las iglesias el trabajo diacónico usualmente está mayoritariamente a su cargo.
Estamos enfrentando fuertes retrocesos: ajustes en salud y educación, eliminación de las políticas que buscan cerrar las brechas de género y prevenir las violencias. Estamos viendo también cómo crecen los privilegios de unos pocos.
