Pate Palero de Católicas por el Derecho a Decidir, Andrea Rivas de Familias Diversas y las Pastoras Wilma Rommel y Mariela Pereyra de la Iglesia Evangélica Luterana Unida y Paula Fogel de la Iglesia Evangélica del Río de la Plata, se unieron en un diálogo para tender puentes entre dos mundos que no están tan separados como parece. SEDI y Fundación Hora de Obrar como parte de la Comunidad de Práctica para la Justicia de Género de la Alianza ACT, organizaron un foro feminista en Buenos Aires en el templo de la parroquia de Belgrano de la Iglesia Evangélica del Río de la Plata, para pensar cómo generar cambios y mejorar la vida de niñas, mujeres y diversidades en América Latina.

La conversación, moderada por la Teóloga feminista Claudia Florentin, se dio en un contexto marcado por crecientes discursos de odio en Argentina y la región, retrocesos en políticas públicas de cuidado, aumento de la pobreza y la desigualdad.
Estuvieron presentes unas cincuenta personas, entre ellas, representantes de organizaciones basadas en la fe de la Alianza ACT de Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Uruguay, Colombia y Perú. Ahora la charla está disponible aquí.

“Cuánto daño se ha hecho en la humanidad a partir de interpretaciones oportunistas de la Biblia”

La Pastora Wilma Rommel de la Iglesia Evangélica Luterana Unida, abrió el foro reflexionando sobre cómo la interpretación patriarcal de la Biblia ha influido en la construcción de roles de género en la cultura occidental: “Cuánto daño se ha hecho en la humanidad a partir de interpretaciones oportunistas de la Biblia.” Wilma propuso una relectura de las Escrituras y de la identidad religiosa que permita visibilizar las contribuciones de las mujeres y recuperar el mensaje de justicia e igualdad que Jesús predicó. Además subrayó que las comunidades de fe deben ser espacios seguros para las personas que históricamente han sido marginadas. “La Biblia no fue escrita por Dios, fue escrita por seres humanos e inspirada por Dios y cuenta lo que entienden sobre cómo Dios se ha manifestado en sus vidas y en su sociedad”, agregó.

“Si no nos ponemos a trabajar juntas, hay personas que se van a ir de su fe y puede ser que no vuelvan nunca más”

Andrea Rivas, directora de AFDA y reconocida activista por los derechos de las familias diversas, interpeló a las comunidades de fe a ser espacios inclusivos y acogedores para las personas LGBT+. “¿Cuántas personas LGBT+ se han acercado a ustedes en sus comunidades? Les aseguro que hay muchas más de las que piensan”, expresó y destacó la necesidad de ser sus «amigos visibles» en las comunidades,es decir, personas a las que otros y otras puedan acudir sin miedo al rechazo, para evitar que más personas pierdan su fe y se enfrenten al dolor de la exclusión. “La construcción del diálogo es nuestra tarea, nuestro desafío”, señaló Rivas, subrayando que la responsabilidad de crear puentes recae en cada integrante de la comunidad de fe.

“Pluralismo para dialogar, evidencias para debatir, esperanza para volver a creer”

Pate Palero, directora de Católicas por el Derecho a Decidir, destacó la importancia de sostener un diálogo plural en estos tiempos de polarización. “Pluralismo para dialogar, evidencias para debatir, esperanza para volver a creer” propuso Palero como nuevo slogan que represente a los movimientos feministas, recordando que el diálogo auténtico requiere apertura y disposición para escuchar otras realidades. En su intervención, instó a que el movimiento feminista deje de caer en la trampa de hablar solo entre sus propios círculos: “Tenemos un gran desafío: dejar de cazar en el zoológico, dejar de hablarnos a nosotras mismas”, afirmó, poniendo el énfasis en la lucha feminista creativa, con humor y esperanzada, que rompa con los dogmatismos y se centre en el diálogo y la convivencia pacífica.

“Hubo políticas públicas que nos habilitaron derechos. Hoy tenemos que pensar estrategias de resistencia en el territorio”

La Pastora Paula Fogel trajo a la mesa una dura crítica a la desigualdad social y económica que afecta al acceso a derechos básicos como la alimentación actualmente en la Argentina: “Estamos viendo banquetes de muerte, donde hay unos pocos que se están quedando con mucho y una mayoría en nuestro país que lastimosamente no tiene la posibilidad de acceder a una alimentación justa y digna”, afirmó Fogel, denunciando la injusticia sistémica que empobrece a las mayorías e instó a la defensa de la agroecología, la biodiversidad y la sustentabilidad, en un contexto de censura y fundamentalismo.

La Pastora destacó la importancia de los actos de creación y protección de la vida, en términos literales y simbólicos: “Sembrar y parir en clave literal, pero también como algo trascendente, como abrazamos y defendemos la vida en contextos de opresión”, reflexionó valorando la siembra y resistencia de las mujeres en la lucha por los derechos en los espacios religiosos.

Finalmente, la Pastora Mariela Pereyra, Presidenta de la Iglesia Evangélica Luterana Unida, cerró el panel con una llamada a sostener el diálogo teológico y social en la diversidad, así como de enfrentar los dogmatismos y fundamentalismos, promoviendo una vida digna y el acceso a los derechos para todas las personas desde una perspectiva de fe y justicia.

“No creo que haya que bajar el perfil, creo que hay que elegir algunas batallas y sostener el discurso teológicamente en la diversidad”, afirmó Pereyra, en referencia a la necesidad de sostener un discurso teológico inclusivo y abierto: “No es el momento de replegarse, creo que por eso estamos acá, porque estamos estableciendo puentes”.

Contra la desesperanza, las redes se extienden

Este foro no solo evidenció la importancia de trabajar por la justicia de género dentro de las iglesias, sino también la capacidad de las comunidades de fe para ser agentes de cambio en la sociedad. Las intervenciones de estas líderes feministas invitan a repensar el rol de las instituciones religiosas como espacios de inclusión y transformación, donde el compromiso con los derechos humanos y la dignidad de todas las personas debe ser innegociable. El diálogo necesario entre Feminismo y Fe subraya que en el camino por la equidad y la justicia, la construcción de una sociedad más justa también es una tarea espiritual.
